Equal parts gritty and melodic, "Hell of a Season" takes us into a mind at war. Building steady momentum toward a powerful electric guitar bridge, the song adds new textures in each verse and opens up the sonic space with ethereal choruses. Sara Jade's vocal performance captures the polarization of a mind slowly unraveling by shifting from a warm and sizzling vocal tone in the verses to a poignant and bittersweet falsetto in the choruses.
